(More customer reviews)I bought this elsewhere (because I found it there first) and l plan on buying another one.On another site, I noticed that out of 8 reviews, 6 gave 5 stars and 2 gave 4 stars.I really think it deserves 5.For it's size, weight, the number of batteries it uses and the price, it's an excellent value.It lights up an average sized room well enough to move around in and do basic activities.You can read by it if you sit very close to it.And if you need more light, it's cheap enough that you can afford another one.It uses 4 size D batteries and will run approximately 25 hours on high and 60 on low.That's pretty green!!And really, if you're just sitting around, low is bright enough.I haven't tried it outside (I bought it for power outages) but I think on high it would provide enough light.The box says it will light up 26 ft on high and 19.5 on low.Another big consideration is that it doesn't get hot, so if you have young children, you don't have worry about them being hurt or about them knocking it over and burning something else.There is another lantern very much like this one that uses 8 batteries and probably would throw more light, but I like the idea of two lanterns so that if someone needs to leave the room (or the area) those left behind still have some light.It's all in what you need, but this is a pretty good buy, all in all.
