(More customer reviews)I bought this headlamp to use while hiking. The best thing about it is how bright it is. It's lumen output is about double what most others I've used is and lights up the night very well. It balances very well with the battery pack on back and fits comfortably. The only downsides to this headlamp is that it uses AA batteries which makes it heavier, and the push button switches have bumped on in the pack a couple of times that caused some fun digging out the spare batteries at night. Other then that this light is not bad, and is now my light of choice when I hit the trail at night.

The Coleman Exponent 4AA 1-Watt Headlamp is lightweight, powerful and durable, with the convenience of hands-free illumination. The 4AA Headlamp boasts five LEDs: one ultra-bright white Cree XLamp XR-E LED, two bright white half-watt LEDs, and two half-watt red LEDs. Use the single 1-watt or two half-watt white LEDs for diffused area light; the 1-watt light will run up to 17 hours, the two half-watt white lights for about 12 hours. Together, the three white LEDs provide a bright wide-beam path of light for approximately six hours. The 2 red LEDs provide enhanced night vision, running for up to 8 hours.
